RURAL MONTSERRADO – At least ten people are dead as a result of a fatal car crash on the Kakata-Monrovia highway; Rural Reporters News Network (RRNN) has been reliably informed.

The incident occurred during the early evening hours of Sunday, 28 October 2024, when a 16-seater passenger bus accidentally ran under a truck parked along the road between Division #8 and Kingsville Township, Rural Montserrado County, according to an eyewitness account.

Medical sources told RRNN that seven of the accident victims died upon arrival at the John F Kennedy Memorial Medical Center, in Monrovia, while two died at the Kesselley Clinic, a local health facility, in the 15-Gate community, while another died at the Barcolleh Health Center in Kakata City, Margibi County.

The bus bearing license plate number B-11663 was traveling from Kakata City and headed for the commercial district of Red Light, in Paynesville, outside the capital, Monrovia, with several passengers aboard.

Prior to the tragic accident, the transport bus was at excessive speed when it ran under the six-tire truck loaded with planks, according to eyewitnesses, who disclosed that the speeding bus was damaged beyond repair.

Meanwhile, seven other occupants of the damaged bus were reportedly wounded critically and are currently seeking medical attention at the John F Kennedy Memorial Medical Center.
