    Police Arrest 53-Year-Old Man for “Raping” 13-Year-Old Girl in Nimba

    TAPPITA – Police in Nimba County have arrested, charged, and sent to court, Prince Wogbeh, a 53-year-old man, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl (name withheld).

    The rape survivor’s grandmother, Sarah David, told Rural Reporters News Network (RRNN) over the weekend that the incident occurred during the night hours of last Tuesday, 28 October 2024, in central Tappita Community, Nimba County.

    Grandmother Sarah narrated that during the night hours of the fateful day, she had gone in the room of her grandchildren when she discovered that the rape survivor was not in bed as she usually would be along with the other children.

    Following a brief period of asking for her and the other grandchildren stating that they did not know her whereabouts, the grandmother further narrated that this prompted her to have embarked upon a search for the rape survivor.

    While in search of the rape survivor, Grandmother Sarah added that she was found by 2 AM, in a room belonging to alleged rapist, Prince Wogbeh.

    Upon spotting the rape survivor in Wogbeh’s room, Grandmother Sarrah added that she immediately raised an alarm, and a score of her neighbors who responded rushed to the scene, and a citizens’ arrest was effectuated until the following day.

    Early the following day, the rape case was reported to the Liberia National Police (LNP) Women and Children Protection Section, in Tappita, and the rape suspect was picked up by the police for interrogation.

    Wogbeh has denied raping the 13-year-old, according to LNP Tappita detachment’s Women and Children Protection Section chief, Solomon Dennis.

    However, a medical report from the Jackson Fiah Doe Hospital shows that the teenager was sexually tampered with, according to an RRNN reporter in the area.

    Our reporter divulged that the rape survivor confirmed being violated by Wogbeh, alleging that this was the second time she was being sexually abused by the 53-year-old.
