Lofa County, Foya City –November 12, 2024-A heartbreaking incident occurred on November 7, when 15-year-old Sobondoe Windor tragically lost her life in Mayour River while doing laundry. The young girl was washing clothes near the river when she reportedly suffered from a fatal drowning incident. Sobondoe, described by her parents as a kind-hearted and supportive daughter, brought joy and love into their lives. In tears, they recounted fond memories of their daughter; emphasizing how much she meant to the family. “She was always there for us, and it’s hard to believe she’s gone,” her mother stated, struggling to find words amidst her grief.

In the wake of this tragedy, a 15-member jury was convened to investigate the cause of Sobondoe’s death. After thorough consideration of the evidence and testimonies, the jury concluded that there was no foul play involved, confirming that her death was the result of accidental drowning.

Despite the conclusion reached by the jury, local authorities, including the police, have announced that the investigation will continue to ensure that all details surrounding the incident are thoroughly examined.
