Grand Kru County, Liberia—the newly appointed County Education Officer (CEO) of Grand Kru, Josiah Sloh Negba was among several CEOs certificated yesterday January 14, 2025 by the Ministry of Education following a two-day intensive orientation workshop organized by the ministry.

The ceremony which started Monday January 13, 2025 and ended Tuesday January 14, 2025, took place at the EJS Ministerial complex in Congo Town, Monrovia.

The orientation workshop aims to equip new education officers with essential skills and knowledge, said the ministry officials. It covered various topics including educational policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and effective school management practices.

The sessions were interactive and featured experienced educators and administrators who shared insights into the challenges and expectations of educational leadership.

Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Marley Jallah commended the Grand Kru County Education Officer for his dedication to the education sector and emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to enhance the quality of education in the county. “Your role as County Education Officer is pivotal in shaping the educational landscape in Grand Kru. We expect you to be a leader who fosters partnerships and works diligently towards creating an environment where every child has access to quality education,” she stated.

Making a remark, the Grand Kru County Education Officer, Josiah Sloh Negba expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to prioritize collaboration with local community leaders, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.

I pledge to work hand-in-hand with everyone involved in the educational process to ensure our children receive the best education possible,” Negba stated.

The Grand Kru County Education boss highlighted several key initiatives he hopes to implement, including regular consultations with teachers to address their needs, increasing parental involvement in school activities, and establishing programs that promote student engagement and retention.

He also underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in managing educational resources.

However, as he takes on this vital responsibility, Josiah Sloh Negba’s readiness to engage with stakeholders and implement strategic programs marks a promising new chapter for education in Grand Kru County.

The county’s future educational landscape will depend on how effectively he harnesses community support and addresses the challenges facing local schools.
