    Newly Assigned CEO Vows to Promote Quality Education in River Gee County…

    RiverGee County, Fishtown – January 28, 2025 – Newly commissioned County Education Officer of River Gee County has vowed to work in line with policies of the Ministry of Education in enhancing quality learning.

    Mr. Jallah Sammy, an Education specialist, was among several other County Education Officers (CEO’s) and District Education Officers (DEO’s) appointed for River Gee County and commissioned by the Ministry of Education, early January 2025.

    Speaking at a kolanut ceremony held in the confidence hall of the Ministry’s local office in Fishtown, River Gee County, on Friday, January 24, 2025, CEO Sammy, promised that his administration in the county will collectively make a positive difference due to his passion for education.

    He said as CEO, he will also recommend programs that would enhance quality learning, especially at the early school level.

    Mr. Jallah Sammy who holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Education has also vowed to take tough actions over non-compliance of schools and teachers who will habitually decide not to prioritize their work but get government salaries. He said such attitude would not be countenanced at all.

    The newly appointed County Education Officer has therefore promised consistent monitoring of schools and teachers for better learning in River Gee.

    “We came to prioritize the ministry’s agenda for quality and accessible education for all Liberians, and we all can achieve it together,” said County Education Officer Jallah Sammy.

    Attendants at the cereomny offer prayers to God at the close of the “Kolanut”ceremony.

    Also speaking on behalf of River Gee County school system, Mr. Amos Chea, Principal of the Gbeapo Multilateral High School, applauded CEO Sammy for accepting to work collectively everyone and at the same time promised a high level of professionalism as well as assured full compliance and reporting timely but also appropriately.

    However, the Ministry of Education has vowed to “suspend or revoke” the permit of any school that fails to comply with the protocols put in place to ensure a safe learning environment in schools.

    According to the protocols released by the ministry recently, require school administrators, are to ensure that their school campuses are kept clean, safe and conducive for learning at all times.

    The CEO was given kolanut along with several other DEOs of River Gee County. River Gee County has six educational districts of Gbeapo, Chedepo, Webbo, Tienpo, Sarbo and Putupo respectively.

    The ceremony was well attended by several Teachers, outgoing CEO and DEOs, Save the Children, an implementing partner to the education ministry in the county, the county local authority, the Press, among others.
