Zwedru -February 4, 2025 – A 27-year-old triplets’ mother, Lydia Kannah is appealing for help in order to sustain her children. Miss. Lydia wants Government of Liberia, philanthropists and child working groups to help take care of her three children.

Lydia, on Sunday night, February 2, 2025, gave birth to triplets (all females) at the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County. She gave birth through a C-section.

The triplets’ mother told Rural Reporters News Network (RRNN) in a mobile phone interviewed that she doesn’t have money to take care of the well-being of her triplets. She narrated that the children’s father is around, but does not have employment to sustain she and her kids.

Lydia disclosed that her mother was the one who supported her throughout the pregnancy, noting that she and the kids are still at the hospital and are expected to be discharged anytime soon.

While the triplets’ mother seeks for help, she is equally grateful to the doctors and nurses assigned at the government’s run hospital in Zwedru. She expressed gratitude to the medical team assigned at the Neonatal Ward for her safe delivery.

Financially, Lydia said she is struggling to take care of herself not to talk about supporting three children. “Seriously, I would be unable to cater for the well-being of my triplets and I want them come up good, I need help to take care of my children” Lydia repeatedly said.

She could not holdback praises on God and the medical doctor and nurses for ensuring a successful delivery.

Lydia Kanneh is not the only person that has given birth to triplets at the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Zwedru. On February 8, 2024, Omu Jalloh, 27, a (Fulani), gave birth to two females and one male at the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital, medical staff told to RRNN. Also in May 2020, a 40-year-old man fled after his wife gave birth to triplets at the government run hospital in Techien District, Grand Gedeh.

Decontee, upon hearing that her husband Joe Karpeh had abandoned her and fled, broke down and felt helpless.
