    Ministry of Internal Affairs Procures Vehicles for County Superintendents…

    Montserrado County, Monrovia- Feb 06, 2025- The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Internal Affairs has procured 15 Toyota Hilux double cabin pickups, designated for the 15 counties’ superintendents across the country.

    This initiative, in a statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday of this week, “Marks a significant step in enhancing the operational capacity of our front-line officials, who play a crucial role in implementing the government’s decentralization agenda.”

    Minister Francis S. Nyumalin makes brief remarks as he officially turnover the purchased fleet keys to GSA Director General,Hon.Galakpai Kortimai during vehicle presentation ceremony at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Monrovia,Liberia.

    In the fiscal budget approved for 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs was allocated funds aimed at improving the mobility and effectiveness of our county superintendents.

    “Despite previous challenges in accessing these resources, we are proud to report that the procurement process has been completed, ensuring that our superintendents are equipped with the necessary tools to serve their county effectively” the release mentioned.

    During the presentation ceremony of the vehicles Thursday in Monrovia, the keys to the vehicles were formally handed over to the Honorable Director General of the General Services Agency, Hon. Galakpai W. Kortimai, who will oversee the distribution of the vehicles to the respective county superintendents.

    State and Presidential Affairs Minister and GSA Director General also engaged protocol formalities during presentation ceremony as Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, Anthony Kesselly et al look-on.

    State and Presidential Affairs Minister Sylvester Grisgsby, who proxy on behalf of the President; expressed the president’s commitment to supporting decentralization and empowering local governance across the 15 sub-political divisions of Liberia.

    For his part, Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin recognized the vital role that county superintendents play as the “foot soldiers” of the current administration as far as local governance and development are concerned. “By prioritizing their needs, we are ensuring that they can carry out their duties more efficiently, ultimately benefiting the citizens they serve and our dear nation,” he added.

    “This achievement is not just about providing vehicles; it is about recognizing the hard work and dedication of our county superintendents,” Minister Francis S. Nyumalin furthered.

    The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains committed to the ongoing development of our internal structures and the enhancement of service delivery at all levels of government.
