Man Alleges Assault by Chinese National Working with Investment Company

Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County-Thursday, September 25, 2025-A Liberian man, Mr. Arthur B. Yalarti, has alleged that he was stabbed in his right arm by a Chinese national working with the Liberia Ever Prosperous Investment Company.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Yalarti explained that he had been working with the company and was instrumental in extending its operations to the southeastern region of the country. He said the incident occurred after returning from Maryland County on company duties. Upon arriving in Zwedru, he decided to spend the night at the company’s office before stepping out to purchase food and other personal items.

According to Mr. Yalarti, while leaving the office, he was unexpectedly confronted by the Chinese national, which escalated into a violent altercation, leaving him stabbed.

“We have never argued before and had no misunderstanding. I bless God for the community’s people who intervened before the arrival of the police,” Mr. Yalarti recounted.

He added that the police later arrested the Chinese national and took him to the station. However, the suspect was reportedly released and has since left the country, despite Mr. Yalarti receiving some financial support for his medical treatment.

The Labor Commissioner of Grand Gedeh County and the County attorney had since become involved in the matter and is reportedly working to re-establish the case to ensure proper investigation and adjudication.
