Grand Kru County |March 15, 2026|A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Agriculture Minister J. Alexander Nuetah, Friday March 13, 2026 visited the SAMJEBO Farm in Grand Kru County as part of efforts to assess agricultural activities and encourage increased local food production.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by residents of Grandcess, who turned out in large numbers to receive the Agriculture Minister and his team during their visit to the area.
The farm, which spans approximately 150 acres, is owned by Joseph Nimely Toe, a Grandcess-born Liberian citizen currently based in the United States. The agricultural project is considered one of the growing farming initiatives in the county aimed at boosting local food production and supporting community livelihoods.
SAMJEBO Farm produces local rice, cassava, and other crops that contribute to improving food security in surrounding communities.
During the visit, the Minister and members of the delegation toured the farm and held discussions with Farm Manager Siemon Kankon, who briefed the team on the farm’s operations, challenges, and future plans for expansion.
Minister Nuetah commended the management and workers of the farm for their dedication to agriculture and their contribution to local food production.
He noted that initiatives like SAMJEBO Farm play an important role in strengthening Liberia’s agricultural sector and improving rural livelihoods.
The Agriculture Minister also encouraged local farmers to increase their involvement in agricultural activities, assuring them that the government remains committed to supporting farming initiatives across the country.
SAMJEBO Farm continues to provide employment opportunities for residents while contributing to agricultural growth and development in Grand Kru County.
