    ArcelorMittal Trains Collide In Nimba County With Several Injured

    Camp Gbaydin, Nimba County |May 31, 2026 |Two trains belonging to ArcelorMittal collided early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2026, around Gbaydin Camp Three in Nimba County after approaching from opposite directions of the same lane.

    According to early reports from the area, the accident happened during the morning hours, causing panic among workers and residents nearby.

    Sources said several people who were on board the trains sustained severe injuries during the collision.

    The exact number of injured persons has not yet been confirmed.

    The injured victims were quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment following the incident.

    The condition of those injured has not yet been officially released as families and community members await further updates.

    Community members around Gbaydin Camp Three gathered at the scene shortly after the accident as emergency assistance efforts began.

    Residents described the collision as a serious incident that temporarily disrupted movement and activities in the area.

    The railway operated by ArcelorMittal plays an important role in transportation and mining activities in Nimba County and other parts of Liberia.

    Many residents are now calling for stronger safety measures and careful monitoring of railway operations to help prevent future accidents and protect workers and communities.
