Monrovia-September 19, 2025– As finishing touches are being done for the County Offices ‘flagship’ deliverable of the current administration of the Ministry of Mines and Energy to be fully achieved, Minister Wilmot Paye has stressed the need for professionalism, teamwork, dedicated service to Country and the willingness to serve as agents of positive change.

Speaking when he met with County Mine Officers, Resident Geologists, and Resident Mining Engineers at the Ministry’s central office in Monrovia, the Mines and Energy Minister emphasized that as their respective professions dictate, his administration is confident that the Mining Engineers, and Geologists taking up assignments have the capabilities required to effectively deliver on decentralizing services of the Ministry at the county level.

Minister Paye called on the County Offices personnel to discharge their duties and responsibilities with the highest measure of diligence and adhere to local government principles and policies of inter-agency collaboration. He wants them team up with other national government institutions in the Counties in exercising their duties and responsibilities of scrupulous implementation of the Minerals and Mining Law of Liberia, and the Exploration Regulations, urging them to stay above the fray of distractions and acts not in line with their terms of reference.

Buttressing Minister Paye, the Deputy Minister for Administration, Eudora Blay-Pritchard, assured the County Offices staff that their work for the Ministry and Country in their respective Counties will be given keen attention through the provision of logistical and technical support.

The September 19, 2025 meeting with the County Mine Officers, Resident Geologists, and Resident Mining Engineers was also graced by the Assistant Minister for Mines, Carlos Edison Tingban, and the Director of Mines, Alwell Aloysius Carr. In separate remarks, they admonished the Engineers and Geologists to live up to the administration’s objectives of making services of the Ministry accessible across the Country without interested business people facing travel hurdles to get to the central office in Monrovia.
