RIVER GEE – The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) River Gee County detachment has busted two women, Menery Konton and Olivia Zayzay, for being in possession of 108 grams of the infamous narcotic substance Kush in that part of the country. UPPER NIMBA – Police in Nimba have arrested a 24-year-old man, Prince Williams, for illegal possession of a firearm and several live rounds of bullets. Williams was nabbed on 16 October with a black Glock 9milimeter (G9mm) pistol, in Nimba’s commercial City, Gompa, popularly known as Ganta. Police picked up Williams in City View Community, in the bustling city of Ganta during the early evening hours, carrying the G9 pistol along with 66 live rounds of the highly sophisticated weapon. ZWEDRU – A resident of Zwedu, Grand Gedeh County, Hezekiah Quayee, whose lifeless body was discovered in Boleyville Community, Kudah Bye Pass, in Zwedru during the early morning hours of 15 October, has been linked to criminal activities. Police in Grand Gedeh told reporters upon the discovery of Quayee’s battered corpse that prior to his death, the adult male was involved in multiple criminal activities. TAPPITA – A 42-year-old man, Jerry Zlogon, believed to be a marijuana cultivator, has been arrested in Tappita, Nimba County, by agents of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA). The alleged marijuana cultivator was nabbed on 12 October, reportedly in possession of over 500,000 seeds of marijuana, following a tipoff from some residents in Tappita. Zlogon blamed his decision to venture into the cultivation and sale of cannabis on “hardship”, according to sources. MONROVIA – Road traffic accident statistics released earlier this week by the Liberia National Police (LNP) revealed that 23 individuals including 20 males and three 3 females, died last month as a result of fatal motor vehicle accidents. The police report classified the total number of last month’s accident victims into three groups, vehicle operators, eight dead; occupants or passengers, seven dead; and pedestrians, eight dead. RURAL MONTSERRADO – State Radio has reported that a land dispute has left two persons critically wounded to the point of being hospitalized. The incident, which took place early this week, was triggered by the alleged sale of a family plot of land.
