The Forestry Development Authority, Grand Gedeh detachment, has arrested forty-eight (48) Burkinabe nationals along with one of their hosts in the Konobo community forest. The arrest made on September 4, 2025.

In recent weeks, the FDA announced on various radio stations and online televisions that no one is allowed to carry on deforestation on any farming activity in the community forests/concessions and national reserved areas.

Speaking to the head of FDA in Grand Gedeh County, Madam Yei Neagor, she said those 48 Burkinabe nationals along with one of their hosts, were arrested while clearing the Konobo community forest.

Madam Neagor further revealed that this is not the first time that FDA has arrest foreign nationals in the concession areas.

In conclusion, she said FDA is preparing documents to forward them to the court for trial while preparation for proper investigation is ongoing.
