Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County –Saturday, September 13, 2025-The administration of the Martha Tubman Memorial hospital has strongly condemned a social media post from a platform called –“INSIDE GEDEH” insinuating that the hospital is charging one thousand Liberian dollar $1,000 for a night per patient.

Recently, “INSIDE GEDEH,” one of the widely monitored social media platforms in the county took to their Facebook page and posted that the County’s foremost medical facility ;Martha Tubman Memorial hospital is charging LD$1,000 for each patient per  night .

Well the hospital through its spokesperson, Thomas Q. Neewray has denied the claim that they are charging Liberian dollars for each night per patient.

At an organized press conference held on Friday, the administration of the hospital strongly condemned the false and malicious information and called on the general population in and out of the county not to give credence to such misleading statement as it was a deliberate falsehood intended to discredit the hospital’s current management team.

“We are taking LD $1,000 from patient regardless the number days and time, they stay at the hospital. Whether they spent one month, six months or one year at the hospital, we don’t ask them for any additional money at all. In addition, it is important to mention that the thousand dollars being referenced, is meant to maintain or keep the hospital operating daily and it is paid only once.”

Mr. Neewray, who address the conference on behalf of the hospital’s management, use the occasion to also call on social media platform operators  in the county to desist from making unfounded claims about the hospital. He said the “Hospital’s management is open and willing to work with everyone and that anytime the media needs information, let them contact us are willing and ready to share the actual happenings obtaining here.”
