‎Ploe Chiefdom, ‎Grand Gedeh County |February 19, 2026|Tensions are rising in Ploe Chiefdom as Elder Henry G. Gbarwea, a prominent traditional leader of Nemenwen Town, issues an urgent plea for the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and local government officials to intervene in a territorial dispute with the Gbazon community.

    ‎The Core of the Conflict

‎The dispute centers on the historical boundary at Warnee. While recent claims have pointed toward a nearby hill as the dividing line, Elder Gbarwea clarified to reporters that the Warnee area is the true, established border.

‎The friction reportedly stems from a “goodwill gesture” gone wrong:

‎The Catalyst: The Ploe people granted farming rights to an individual named Sohn from the Gbazon community.

‎The Result: This grant has allegedly led to encroachment, sparking fears of instability between the two neighboring groups.

    ‎Demands for Resolution

‎Elder Gbarwea and the Nemenwen leadership are moving past verbal negotiations, calling for a technical and permanent solution. The community has formally requested:

‎Direct Government Oversight: Immediate intervention by Local Government Authorities.

‎Field Deployment: The physical presence of the LLA at the Warnee site.

‎Modern Demarcation: A formal land survey utilizing GPS technology to establish definitive, historical boundaries.

‎”We want the Land Authority to bring their GPS so this land business can be over,” Elder Gbarwea stated, emphasizing the need for a final, data-driven resolution to maintain peace.
