    Citizens In Kawelahun Town, Porkpa District Express Serious Disappointment In BRAC Liberia

    Grand Cape Mount County-Thursday, August 21, 2025-Citizens in Kawelahun Town, Porkpa District, have expressed serious disappointment in BRAC who is implementing the livelihood program around the Gola Forest Affected Communities.

    According to them, all that is posted on the organization’s signpost is not real as they have been totally delinquent in everything since the project commenced. They alleged that they were promised goats, pigs, among others but none has been fulfilled to date.

    Those who are engaged with the swamp rice project, no rice coats for them and since November last year each of the group was given United States thirty Dollars only and since then, they are yet to benefit from any further assistance.

    Those who are also engaged with snails farming, said, majority of the snails have died due to lack of food to sustain them.

    Furthermore, they the citizens complained that vast majority of the members who found part of the various groupings, have decided to drop because the suffering is too much and all what the SCNL, FDA, BRAC and UNDP combined and promised, are yet to be realized.

    In addition, another issue they spoke about scholarships for their children so that they can access higher education.

    Meanwhile, the various farming groups are calling on BRAC and other supporting partners to supporting the project while at the same time reminding them of the many promises that currently hanged in the balance with no sign of fulfilling them.
