Nimba County – Tuesday, June 10, 2025- In a noteworthy development for the infrastructure of Nimba County, Rev. John Baryoga, the Overseer of Harvest Intercontinental Ministry Unlimited, Nimba County has expressed gratitude to the national government for its recent efforts to gone far in pavement of the Ganta-Tappita road.

Rev. Baryoga said the upgrade is important for improving connectivity, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the overall quality of life for the residents of the Nimba area.

He noted that the Ganta-Tappita road is an essential route linking various communities associated with his ministry, facilitating local transport and enabling the movement of goods and services between the southeastern part of Liberia and its economic centers.

Reflecting on the previous poor state of the road, the Harvest Ganta Central Church Pastor mentioned challenges it posed for public transport, trade, and daily commuting.

The Harvest Nimba district Overseer pointed out that better road conditions will decrease travel times and expenses for both residents and local businesses, ultimately creating more trade opportunities.

However, the importance of the road enhancement goes beyond transportation but improved infrastructure, and directly impacts economic development.

“As head of the Harvest Intercontinental Ministry Unlimited in Nimba County, we struggled in the past to oversee our local pastors and congregations due to the dire road conditions. But just yesterday, my wife and grandson drove from Ganta to Tappita, in less than two hours, a journey that used to take us days, fraught with hardship,” he recounted.

He expressed confidence that by the end of August 2025, the paving work will extend into Tappita district, an area that previously posed significant challenges for access.

Rev. Baryoga thanked the Liberian Government for the Ganta-Tappita road project and encouraged his congregation to pray for the government to continue making positive strides for her citizens.

“It is my hope that similar improvements will extend beyond Tappita district, into the southeast, where I am often invited for ministry work. As Christians, we must pray for our nation’s development, as remaining underdeveloped is no longer acceptable,” he stated.

He urged the government to maintain a focus on infrastructure projects throughout the region to further enhance connectivity and access.

The influx of investments in infrastructure can empower local communities, reduce poverty, and raise living standards.

The national government’s commitment to road infrastructure aligns with its broader objectives for national development and economic recovery, particularly following years of civil strife.

The successful management of this project reflects the government’s dedication to overcoming long-standing infrastructural obstacles that have impeded growth and progress.

The paving of the Ganta-Tappita corridor has sparked excitement and optimism among residents and leaders in Nimba County.

These comments were made by Rev. John Baryoga during his monitoring visit to Harvest Tappita, located in lower Nimba County, on June 8, 2025.

Rev. Baryoga, who leads over fifty churches and fellowships in the county, is recognized as a prominent figure in his ministry and Nimba County.
