River Gee County – Wednesday, August 5, 2025 – At the fifth induction ceremony of the newly elected leadership of the Association of River Gee Youth (ARGY), River Gee County Administrator Alex Dennis has called for unity and constructive communication among the county’s young residents.
Dennis pointed out that negative social media posts and remarks targeting the county leadership damage the reputations and hinder developmental progress.
He cautioned that irresponsible online behavior could create rifts among local leaders. “In today’s digital era, our words hold significant power,” he stated. “We should use that influence to unite, rather than divide. It’s crucial to reflect on how our online conduct affects our county and its leaders.”
He encouraged youth to verify information from official sources before sharing anything about government officials, noting that careless social media engagement can negatively impact any societal growth. “Our office is here to assist, don’t hesitate to reach out before making any posts, young people of River Gee,” he recommended.
The County Administrator also stressed the need for the county’s youth to exercise caution with their social media activities.
At the formal introduction of the newly installed leadership of the County Youth, Dennis urged the young people to lead by example in promoting positive conversations and to use social media to celebrate communal achievements and foster connections.
The River Gee County Administrator speech concluded with a united call to action, inspiring the inducted leadership to prioritize responsible social media use and work collaboratively toward the shared aim of improving River Gee County’s well-being. “Together, we can drive meaningful change. Let’s build a community we can all be proud of, one post at a time,” he emphasized.
Following the ceremony, newly inducted President Prince Natu Weadatu expressed gratitude for the support he received from his peers.
“It’s an honor to serve as president, and I vow to dedicate my efforts to uplifting our youths and advocating for our collective interests,” Weadatu stated in a post-ceremony interview.
He highlighted the pressing need for job creation, better educational opportunities, and health programs tailored for the youths of River Gee.
Weadatu’s leadership team includes Vice President Francis Badio, Secretary-General Prince K. Banya, and Treasurer Miss Hannah P. Hinneh. Richmond Nagbe was appointed as Assistant Secretary, while Siassay Kuo took on the role of Financial Secretary.
During the induction ceremony, the newly elected leadership received a donation of 100 plastic chairs and a DSTV set from the Kuncare Foundation, along with a pledge for youth facility renovations from River Gee County Senator Jonathan Boycharles Sogbie, both of whom attended the event through representations.
However, the outgoing leadership, led by public health professional Sackor Toe, did not attend the induction for unspecified reasons.
The County Youths Induction Ceremony was held over the weekend, took place at the deteriorating Fish-Town City Hall, drawing youth from all ten administrative districts of River Gee, as well as youth presidents from Maryland and Grand Gedeh Counties; reflecting a strong sense of democracy, unity, and hope for the future.
The Association of River Gee Youths look forward to a productive and impactful term dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and empowered generation ready to tackle the challenges faced by the county’s youths.
