Paris, France – Thursday, August 28, 2025, His Excellency Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay, Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the French Republic today, hosted a high-level meeting with Madam Sophie Zurquiyah, Chief Executive Officer of Viridien (formerly CGG); a global leader in geoscience, digital technologies, and earth-data solutions. The meeting took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Paris.

Pertinent discussions centered on potential strategic cooperation and investment opportunities in Liberia, with a particular focus on the energy sector—a key pillar of the Liberian Government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

“This engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the Government of Liberia to foster foreign investment and cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships that align with national priorities,” a Liberian embassy press release added.

Ambassador Yorlay and Madam Zurquiyah explored the possibility of a prospective visit to Liberia, identified key areas for potential collaboration, and considered investment models that are responsive to Liberia’s development objectives.

Among the concepts discussed was the Multi-Client Model—a collaborative investment framework recognized for its sustainability and adaptability to local contexts. This model may serve as the basis for a future Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between relevant stakeholders and the Government of Liberia.

For his part, Ambassador Yorlay emphasized “Liberia’s commitment to maintaining a stable, transparent, and investor-friendly environment. He underscored that Liberia offers a conducive climate for profitable ventures, supported by policy reforms that promote accountability, economic expansion, and public-private partnerships.”

Energy remains a critical sector under the ARREST Agenda’s Sustainable Development pillar. Strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure is essential to fostering industrial growth, expanding electricity access, and improving the overall quality of life for all Liberians.

That said, the meeting concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with both parties expressing strong interest in continued dialogue and collaboration.
