River Gee County, April 3, 2025-Fire has killed a 76-years old man identified as Moses Norring. Moses died on Tuesday, April 2, 2025 at 4:25pm while burning his farm in Jarkaken town, Chedepo Administrative District, River Gee County.

As a well-known farmer, Moses was noted for producing more crops in the part of the Chedepo district he lived.

Eyewitnesses said old man Norring was caught in the flames, resulting to his tragic death. He has since being buried near the incident site as his lifeless body was unhealthy for public view.

Jarkaken is located north-western, River Gee, about 56km away from the county capital Fish-Town.

Moses Norring is the second Liberian farmer who has died this year while burning farm. The first farmer to have been killed by fire was Abraham Gondah aka NKor Blama. Abraham died on March 10, 2025 in Mana Clan, Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount.

These tragic events serve as a stark reminder of the risks associated with traditional farming practices in rural Liberia.
