    Fishmonger Associations In Grand Kru Receive $4.1 Million Dollars Cash Donation From Senator Chie

    Barclayville City, Grand Kru County-Tuesday, August 12, 2025-Grand Kru County Senator, Albert Tugbe Chie has made cash donation of $4.1 Million Liberian dollars to the four fishmonger associations within the County.

    The Senator gesture is aimed at enhancing the economic viability of local fish businesses within the county.

    According to a release from Senator Chie Office, the $4.1 Million Liberian dollars to the four fishmonger institutions will serve as an interest-free loan to support growth and development within the community.

    The release detailed that each Association’s in the following fishing communities, including Garraway, Sass-Town, Grandcess and Picnicess will receive $1,000,000 Liberian dollars, along with an additional L$100,000 allocated for administrative costs related to loan management.

    Senator Chie has urged the fishermen and fishmongers associations to create comprehensive guidelines to ensure equitable distributions and use of the funds as a revolving loan among the women engaged in fish buying and marketing.

    This initiative underscores Senator Chie’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of fishmongers and fostering sustainable economic growth and development in Grand Kru County.
