Bo Waterside Port of Entry, Grand Cape Mount County |May 3, 2026| LDEA detachment in Grand Cape Mount County have arrested a man for smuggling cocaine in his stomach. The incident happened Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Bo Waterside Port of Entry.
Authorities say 40-year-old John Chimezie Mba was caught during a routine search around 12:23 in the afternoon. According to officers, S/A James Lebbie became suspicious of Mba while checking his bag in the warehouse.
S/A Lebbie then took the suspect to the office for questioning at which time investigators found drug photos and videos on Mba’s phone and detained him.

Hours later, Mba confessed he had 66 tubes of cocaine hidden inside his body. Police say the cocaine is worth more than 7 million Liberian dollars; approximately US$ 39,000 dollars. Mba is a Nigerian national who currently lives in Freetown. He remains in custody as investigation continues.
