Monrovia-Liberia-Wednesday, April 9,2025- Mrs. Celue Doe-Addo, the daughter of the late former President Samuel K. Doe, has called for a united front among Liberians, especially emphasizing the need for reconciliation between the peoples of Nimba County and Grand Gedeh County respectively. Her remarks, filled with emotion and a spirit of forgiveness, sought to heal the wounds that have long plagued the nation following years of civil unrest.

During a special interview with Okay FM Talkshow hosts Julius Jeh, Mrs. Doe-Addo issued a powerful apology to all victims of the civil crisis in Liberia, acknowledging the deep scars left by the conflict that claimed countless lives, destroyed properties and shattered families.

“I’m here today, not just as the daughter of a former president but as a Liberian who feels the pain of our collective past. I sincerely apologize to those who have suffered due to the violence and chaos that engulfed our beloved country,” she expressed with conviction.

At the same time, Mrs. Doe-Addo also offered forgiveness to those believed to have played a role in the death of her father, Samuel K. Doe, who was brutally murdered during the civil unrest.

“I’m a devout Christian who believes that forgiveness is a powerful tool for healing. It is not about forgetting the past but rather about freeing ourselves from its burdens. I have chosen to forgive as a means to pave the way for a brighter future for all Liberians.”

Mrs. Doe-Addo expressed gratitude to President Joseph N. Boakai for his decision to honor the memory of former presidents Samuel K. Doe and William R. Tolbert by reinterring their remains. This symbolic act, she believes, serves as a significant step towards reconciling a nation fragmented by years of conflict.
