Grand Kru County, Liberia–Monday, June 10,2025- Residents and school administrators in Grand Kru County have expressed their gratitude to President Joseph Boakai, Education Minister, and partners for the ongoing modern construction of three senior high school facilities within the County.
The ongoing construction schools facilities are taking place in three of Grand Kru eight educational districts, including Wedabo Gbanken, Fenito of Dorbor and Nifu of Jloh as part of the government of Liberia “Arrest Agenda Decentralization Programs,” which emphasizes on equitable access to quality education across the country.
Initially, the project was awarded to a different contractor, but the construction firm abandoned the work during the regime of former President George Weah administration; 2018/2023, leaving the ministry with no choice but to terminate their contract when the new administration took over.

International Consolidated Contractors(ICC); a reputable construction company won the contract this year 2025 to implement the projects following the recent nationwide tour of Education Minister, Dr. Jarso Marley Jallah.
During a recent visit to one of the construction sites Monday June 9, 2025, Jefferson Tarbor and Augustine Tarh; residents of Wedabo Gbanken gathered to celebrate the progress that has been made on the school facility as they expressed their appreciation for the partnership that has led to the transformative project.
“The constructions of these senior high school facilities represent a significant step forward for our children’s education,” said Mr. Augustine Tarh, a local school administrator.
“For years, our students have faced challenges in accessing quality education. With these new schools, we are not only providing them with better facilities but also inspiring them to pursue their academic goals with renewed hope.”
Both Jefferson Tarbor and Augustine Tarh have voiced their continued support for President Boakai, highlighting his dedication to improving educational opportunities across Liberia.

They believed that the new schools will empower the local youth, providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. “The investment in education is an investment in our future,” stated Jefferson Tarbor, a Youth leader. “We are grateful to President Boakai and the Ministry of Education for prioritizing our communities and recognizing the importance of education as a cornerstone of development. These schools will change lives, and we are excited to see our children flourish.”
Meanwhile, the ongoing construction of the new senior high schools stands as an evidence to the collaborative efforts of President Joseph Boakai, the Education Ministry, partners, and the local communities in advancing education in Liberia; which is expected to ease the burden on students and families, who currently face the challenge of migrating to other communities in search of secondary education in the area.
