River Gee County | Feb. 21, 2026 | The Jayproken Clinic in the Putupo Administrative district, River Gee County, is continuing to provide essential healthcare services despite operating in a temporary and constrained structure due to ongoing renovation works at its main facility.

The clinic’s primary building suffered severe damage several years ago when a powerful storm tore off its roof, forcing the facility to shut down operations for nearly six months.

At the time, residents from surrounding communities, including those within Jayproken strongly appealed to the Ministry of Health through the River Gee County Health Team to ensure the clinic’s reopening.

Responding to the community’s urgent healthcare needs, authorities approved the temporary reopening of the clinic, allowing it to function in a limited and less favorable structure within the area.

Now, renovation efforts are underway and nearing completion as part of a comprehensive improvement initiative aimed at restoring and upgrading the facility.

The project is being undertaken by River Gee County electoral district 2, Representative, Isaac Boye Choloplay Wou, in collaboration with local stakeholders and monitor by the River Gee County Health Team to ensure that healthcare delivery remains uninterrupted throughout the construction period. According to clinic administrators, all services have been temporarily relocated to smaller buildings within the clinic compound.

While some services are operating on adjusted schedules, but management has emphasized that critical medical care continues to be available to the public.

“We understand that renovations can cause minor inconveniences, but these improvements are necessary to provide better healthcare services in the long term,” said Thomas Koffa, Officer-in-Charge – OIC of Jayproken Clinic. “Our priority remains the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients.”

The renovation project includes ceiling replacement, interior and exterior painting, installation of new zinc roofing, replacement of doors and windows, and improved security locks. Once completed, the upgraded facility is expected to significantly enhance service delivery, provide a more comfortable environment for patients and staff, and create space for the expansion of medical services to meet the needs of the growing population.

Clinic management has expressed optimism that the renovation will be completed in the coming months. Upon completion, Jayproken Clinic plans to officially unveil its improved facilities to the public.

Despite the structural challenges, the clinic remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering quality healthcare services to residents across Putupo administrative District and neighboring communities in River Gee County.
