Jarkaken, River Gee County – Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested drugs suspect Esther Nyenpan for having in illegal possession of more than 66 wraps of Marijuana and 21 cartridges.
The arrest took place over the weekend in Jarkaken, Chedepo Administrative District of River Gee County, located approximately 60 kilometers away from the county capital, Fish-Town.
The 35-year-old suspect was captured as her accomplice fiancé, Otis Quaye, flee the scene upon hearing a tip-off during LDEA River Gee detachment’s routine patrol in the area.
The Agency reported that the suspects were found with the illegal substances and ammunition during a stop and search operation in the Chedepo Jakarken area of River Gee County following information provided by local residents.
The street value of the confiscated marijuana is estimated at LD$6,600, while information regarding the value of the cartridges was not disclosed by the LDEA officers in the county.
However, Esther Nyenpan was swiftly transferred to the Kelipo Magisterial County for prosecution, while the cartridges are set to be handed over to the Liberia National Police River Gee detachment.
Richard N. Nangoe, the LDEA Commander of River Gee County, iterated the agency’s unwavering commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring that individuals like Esther Nyenpan are held accountable under the law.
