Monrovia, Liberia-Saturday, October 18, 2025-The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) recently broke ground for the electrification of Bentol City and Crozierville Township, marking a significant milestone in the country’s energy development.
This project, implemented under the Gap Community Electrification Project (GCEP) according to the LEC, aims to provide reliable electricity access to hundreds of households and businesses across the corridor.
The electrification works, the LEC said, are expected to be completed within 12 weeks.
In a related development, Green Guard Eco Solutions has launched Liberia’s first Resource Recovery, Carbon Capture, and Waste-to-Energy Project in Crozierville Township.
This initiative seeks to tackle municipal waste while generating clean, renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The project aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Clean Water, Affordable and Clean Energy, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action.
