    Liberia Land Authority Hosts Its Sierra Leonean Counterpart: Strengthening Regional Ties

    Monrovia,Liberia-Thursday,August 7, 2025- The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 hosted at its headquarters in Monrovia, a high-level delegation from the National Land Commission of Sierra Leone.

    Provided overnight and purpose of the visit,  Sierra Leone National Land Commission General Abu Bakarr Sappay Foray- Musa, his delegation’s visit to the LLA  is a testament to the growing importance of land governance in the region.

    According to the Sierra Leone National Land Commission, Commissioner General, since the establishment of the Commission, they have been thinking about regional experience sharing and his administration have chosen Liberia in strengthening collaboration and partnership through inter- agencies collaboration.

    “I thought on the idea, at times we go out to EU countries for experience-sharing in the land sector, but we are unable to achieve such target due to cultural diversity among other factors” CG Foray-Musa explained.

    CG Foray-Musa acknowledged Liberia’s growing development and advancement within in the land rights management, a clear testament that prompted his team to schedule this visit in order to foster collaboration and partnerships.

    “Sierra Leone is new in land governance and administration, partnering with country like Liberia will help in strengthening our sector for improvement and growth,” he recounted.

    Making brief presentation on behalf of the Liberia Land Authority, Stanley Toe, Executive Director welcomes the delegation and summarized the details on the workings at the LLA, a clear testament to the Authority’s commitment to sustainability land rights management in Liberia.

    Both countries recognize the critical role that effective land management plays in promoting economic development, reducing conflict, and improving the lives of citizens.

    During the visit, the delegation engaged in a series of discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions with the LLA Board of Commissioners and staff.

    The talks focused on best practices in land governance, land policy development, and institutional strengthening.

    The LLA and the National Land Commission of Sierra Leone also explored opportunities for collaboration on land-related projects and initiatives. This includes sharing experiences and expertise in areas such as land titling, land use planning, and land dispute resolution.

    The visit was hailed as a success, with both sides expressing a strong commitment to strengthening their partnership. The LLA and the National Land Commission of Sierra Leone look forward to building on the momentum generated by this visit and working together to promote effective land governance in the region.

    The visit also underscores the importance of regional collaboration in promoting effective land governance. By sharing experiences and best practices, countries in the region can learn from each other and develop more effective land management systems.

    The LLA and the National Land Commission of Sierra Leone are well-positioned to play a leading role in promoting regional collaboration on land governance issues.

    Both institutions have made significant progress in recent years in developing their land management systems and are now looking to share their experiences with other countries in the region.
