Monrovia, Liberia |January 18, 2025 | Government of Liberia through the LTA is set to revamp its Country Code Top Level Domain (CCTLD), in a bid to enhance its digital economy.
Currently, the .lr domain is used by only 22 government ministries and websites, lacking the technical features and security needed to support a robust digital economy.
The process of redelating the .lr domain is underway, with consultants guiding the process and involving input from various government agencies.
The expected nine-month process according to the Liberia Telecommunications Authority aims to establish an infrastructural framework with added layers to verify authenticity.
Consultant Olu Olutola is leading the effort, emphasizing the need for broad input from government agencies to ensure a successful transition.
