Monrovia, Liberia |March 17, 2026|The Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) is set to showcase Liberia’s renewable energy potential at the 11th Powering Africa Summit in Washington, D.C., USA, on March 19-20, 2026.
Led by Executive Director Mr. Samuel Bocay Nagbe, RREA will highlight the country’s progress in expanding energy access, particularly in rural areas, and seek international partnerships to drive sustainable energy growth.
In a release issued on Tuesday by the RREA, the Powering Africa Summit will provide an important opportunity for Liberia to strengthen partnerships and mobilize investment that will accelerate efforts to expand renewable energy access and support sustainable development in rural communities.
The summit, themed “Powering the U.S. Africa Partnership: Energy Infrastructure, Critical Minerals & Investment Strategies,” according to Executive Director Nagbe, will bring together African ministers, global investors, and energy leaders to discuss strategies for advancing sustainable energy infrastructure.

Alongside Environmental Assistant Miss Ronnell B. Tugboe, Mr. Nagbe will engage in high-level discussions on energy partnerships, financing for large-scale power projects, and clean energy solutions.
RREA’s participation underscores Liberia’s commitment to renewable energy, including solar mini-grids and decentralized energy systems, critical to expanding electricity access in underserved areas.
The agency’s efforts aim to attract investment, strengthen energy infrastructure, and accelerate Liberia’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.
