Monrovia, Liberia, Thursday, October 23, 2025- In a significant move to bridge the digital divide and enhance learning opportunities for students across Liberia, the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) and Starlink Liberia have signed a landmark agreement.
The partnership aims to connect 156 public high schools across the country with fast and reliable internet services, empowering students with the digital skills they need to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.

Under the agreement, Starlink will donate internet equipment and a one-year data plan under its Impact Plan, a program designed to support education in underserved areas.
The donated kits, valued at over US$160,000, will be installed by the LTA, building on the Ministry of Education’s previous efforts to equip schools with computers and solar power through the IRISE initiative.
The equipment is expected to arrive soon, and installation will commence immediately, providing students with access to a wealth of digital resources and learning opportunities.
This initiative is a significant step towards advancing digital access and learning opportunities for students nationwide.
The partnership between LTA and Starlink Liberia is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the education sector. The Ministry of Education has been working tirelessly to enhance digital literacy and provide students with the skills they need to compete in the global economy.
“We are excited about this partnership with Starlink Liberia,” said a senior official at the LTA. “This initiative will go a long way in bridging the digital divide and providing our students with the digital skills they need to succeed in life.”
The agreement is also in line with the government’s efforts to promote digital inclusion and development. By providing internet access to public high schools, the initiative will enable students to access a wealth of digital resources, including educational content, online courses, and digital libraries.
This will not only enhance their learning experience but also equip them with the skills they need to compete in the global economy. The partnership is expected to have a significant impact on the education sector, particularly in rural areas where access to digital resources is limited.
The LTA and Starlink Liberia’s partnership is a significant step towards a digital Liberia. With this initiative, the government is demonstrating its commitment to leveraging technology to improve the lives of its citizens.
As the installation of the equipment begins, students across the country can look forward to a brighter future, empowered by the power of digital technology. The Liberia Telecommunications Authority and Starlink Liberia are working together to make this vision a reality, and their efforts are expected to have a lasting impact on the education sector.
