    Lofa County Police Chief Lauds Team & Community Watch Forum for Reduction in Crime

    Voinjama City, Lofa County |Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025 |The Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Lofa detachment of the Liberia National Police,  ACP Tarnue Kerkula says, there is a reduction in the number of criminal cases ahead of the December 25, 2025 and the New Year celebration.

    ACP Tarnue Kerkula made special reference to crimes such as burglary and pickpocketing, unruly activities and movement of Zogoes in community, armed robbery and intimidation of marketers among others.

    He said the Liberia National Police in Lofa is succeeding in fighting crimes because of the growing partnership and collaboration with the Community Watch Forum; which has been directly involved in the communities to fight crimes.

    “Today we can boast that there is a decrease in the number of some criminal cases in the county because of the joint effort and collaboration between the Community Watch Forum and the Joint Security,”ACP Tarnue Kerkula mentioned in an interview.

    Community Watch Forum Members asssembled in Voinjama City.

    He continues, “Over the year, we were successful to recruit more than Thousands of community watch forum members from Foya, Kolahun, Voinjama, Quardu Bondi, Zorzor and Salayea districts to volunteer for their community, and they are all doing well with the partnership, many thanks to them and the community for the understanding.”

    Community Watch Forum members were recruited by the Liberia National Police and partners from their respective communities for the purpose of helping the Police to combat crimes within their various communities and the County at large.

    He wants citizens to continue the cooperation and assist the county’s national security architecture the much needed support in terms of intelligence gathering and other associated assistance that the might be in need of during the course of operations.

    “We also want the community to help identified criminals, strange movement in the community and report to us or to the Community Watch Forum members for quick action, because our children are taking in harmful substances,   so please help us bring them to book,” he concluded.
