Lofa County,Voinjama City-Wednesday,March 26, 2025-Lonestar MTN customers in Voinjama, and several cities in the County struggled to cash out mobile Monday and do other business as their network remained perpetually down.

For over a week now in Voinjama and other cities across the County, Lonestar MTN Network remained perpetually down thus causing serious embarrassment to customers who normally received their salaries via and do business with the network.
Some Lonestar MTN customers who spoke to our reporter, said they are seriously embarrassed with the current situation .”Can you imagine my brother, my children are expected to start test next week at the Kormah Shepherd Mission School and other schools in County and they are sending them home for School fees , tell me how am I going to get the money. I do most of my savings on Lonestar MTN account, but right now there is no means to cash out,” Ma-Sonnie Kava a struggling parent told our reporter in Voinjama.
Another civil servant who spoke on condition of anoymity ,said “My brother some of us are civil servant and we only get alert from Lonestar cell to know our status for payment, but for the past week, we are in complete darkness, so we are calling on the Liberia Telecommunication Authority to intervene in the matter as soon as possible,” he disclosed.
The past few of days have seen some citizens traveled to Gbarnga city , Bong County, while others traveled to places where there is network to get their money out of their phone. This situation, according to many citizens this is not the first time Lonestar MTN has disappointed her customers.
“Even if they are on for service , you get stable network only for one or two days and before you look, their signal is down. This is completely bad for her customers, we want the Liberia Telecommunication Authority to take action instead of the too much Press Conference or Press Releases,” Johnson Gayflor, a popular business man in Kolahun District said in an interview.
“All we can say to Lonestar cell MTN is to payback our data money, airtime and the losses they have caused in our businesses, because we are paying for it and we should benefit from it,” Abraham Sesay one of the business men in Voinjama city disclosed.
The unremitting condition of Lonestar cell MTN is causing more civil servants to leave their respective jobs and look for places to cash out mobile Money on their Lonestar cell MTN phone just to keep the family growing.

Meanwhile, the Management of Lonestar cell MTN few days ago issued an official statement urging the public, particularly Lofa citizens to bear patience with the company as one of their towers located around the St. Paul Bridge was damaged with several cables affected.
“Our Technicians are working on the damaged cables at the St. Paul bridge and in the next few days, we will restore the network in the affected areas in Voinjama and Lofa County at large,” Lonestar MTN release said.
Currently , 85% of Business owners in Lofa County and civil servants depends on Lonestar cell MTN for mobile money transactions and use Orange Liberia mainly for communication purpose.
Few months ago, several citizens in Lofa County decided to take Lonestar cell MTN to court for this continued breakdowns; but their decision to take the company to court later slowed following several interventions by local officials and some good citizens.The Liberia Telecommunication Authority ( LTA) is yet to officially comment on this on and off state of affairs between the company and her Lofa-based customers.
