    LTA Authorizes Mobile Network Providers To Restore Data Packages, Voice calls With Immediate Effect

    MONROVIA, Dec 17, 2024 – The Liberia Telecommunications Authority said it has since authorized Mobile Network providers to restore data Packages and voice with immediate effect.

    LTA statement is in reaction to public outcry that GSM companies operating in Liberia are yet reverse their decisions to stabilize data and voice calls.

    In an interview Monday, December 16, 2024, LTA Director of Public Affairs Jarsea Burphy urged GSM service providers to adhere to the new regulations.

    Madam Burphy however called on the public to report GSM companies that will undermine the directive from the Liberia Telecommunications Authority

    She said, as a Telecommunications regulatory body, LTA remains steadfast in protecting the interest of consumers and service providers in line with the policy of the entity.

    Meanwhile, the Liberia Telecommunications Authority is expected to launch a new program to enhance the country’s Telecommunications sector.

    LTA Director of Public Affairs Jarsea Burphy noted that modalities have currently been worked out to ensure successful launch of the program in the country.

    She said phase one of the initiative will focus on the issuing of licenses to Telecommunications providers including Starlink and resources generated from the sector.

    The Liberia Telecommunications Authority Director of Public Affairs said the launch of the new policy will bring together experts to widen discussions about the Telecommunications market.
