Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County |May 12, 2026 |The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, MGCSP, has launched stakeholder engagement and consultation meetings under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, LWEP, across five districts in Grand Cape Mount County and six districts in River Cess County respectively.
The meetings, which began on Monday, are scheduled to conclude on May 15, 2026.
In Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County, more than 90 local leaders, women, youth representatives, and community stakeholders gathered to strengthen awareness and promote community ownership of the project.
The consultations aim to ensure that residents understand LWEP’s goals and anticipated benefits.
Through these engagements, MGCSP is reinforcing principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusive participation as the project seeks to empower women, girls, families, and entire communities.
“Together, we are building stronger communities where women lead, voices are heard, and development reaches everyone,” the ministry stated.

The Liberia Women Empowerment Project is a government initiative under MGCSP designed to advance women’s economic and social empowerment at the community level.
