Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County – Sunday, November 9, 2025 The political temperature in Grand Gedeh County has boiled over.

A dominant coalition of youth and civil society groups, operating as the “Movement Against Bad Governance” (MABG), has formally triggered plans for a massive, confrontational public protest set for December 20, 2025.

“This is not a request—it is a direct challenge to President Joseph Boakai, demanding the immediate firing of two key officials: Superintendent Alex Chersia Grant and County Attorney E. Wilkins Nah,” Sampson B. Williams remarked in a statement issued in Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County.

Mobilization Against Alleged Corruption and Bad Governance

The announcement, delivered with fierce intent on Saturday, November 8, 2025, by MABG Chairman Sampson Bossoe Williams, leaves no room for negotiation. Williams made it clear that the protest is designed to force President Boakai’s hand to “with immediate effect” remove Grant and Nah.

The catalyst for this unprecedented action is a litany of allegations concerning widespread corruption and catastrophic bad governance that MABG claims have crippled the county since the officials assumed their respective responsibilities and roles.

“Enough is enough,” Chairman Williams declared, his voice ringing with defiance. “Since their ascendancy to the county’s highest seats, the citizens of Grand Gedeh have witnessed a DECLINE in accountability and a RISE in practices that are detrimental to the county’s development.

President Boakai MUST act now to restore the confidence of the people—or face the consequence of public rage.”

    A County United In Demand!

The MABG is no fringe group; it represents a powerful, unified front of the county’s core demographics, signaling unprecedented discontent.

The coalition that will flood the streets on December 20th includes: Students; Motorcyclists; Community Dwellers; and Representatives of the Disabled Community.

In separate charged remarks during the launch, every segment of the movement unanimously demanded that the alleged corrupt practices and failed leadership under Superintendent Grant and Attorney Nah be terminated immediately through their swift dismissal.

The planned 20th December 2025 demonstration is poised to be a watershed moment—a severe test of President Boakai’s commitment to his anti-corruption pledges and his ability to manage a rapidly escalating political crisis at the local level.
