The Officer-In-Charge of Popalahun clinic, Koiyan Ballah, on Saturday, November 16, 2024 made a compelling case for the urgent renovation of the clinic. Ballah made the call during a visit of the county health team, headed by Max Ngaima Momo, the Human Resource Officer.
OIC Ballah stressed the critical need for the upgrading of the clinic, which he described as increasingly inadequate for the healthcare demands of the local population. “Our facility is in dire need of renovation to ensure that we can provide safe and efficient healthcare services,” he asserted.
The Popalahun Clinic has been a crucial healthcare provider for the community, but deteriorating conditions have raised concerns among both staff and patients. Ballah pointed out issues such as outdated medical equipment, cramped patient areas, and insufficient sanitation facilities, which he said are essential for quality health delivery.
“Investing in the renovation of our clinic is essential for the health of our community. We must create an environment that supports both patients and healthcare workers,” he added.
In response, Max Ngaima Momo of the county health team acknowledged the challenges faced by the clinic and expressed a commitment to addressing the renovation needs. “We understand the importance of this request and will work collaboratively to explore options for improving the facility,” he stated.
Community members have voiced their support for the renovation, emphasizing the need for a healthcare environment that meets modern standards. “We rely on this clinic for our health needs, and it is crucial that it is properly maintained,” said a local resident.
As discussions progress, the OIC and the HR of the county health team are encouraging the community to actively engage in advocating for the necessary renovations. “With unified efforts, there is hope that the Popalahun Clinic will soon receive the upgrades it urgently requires to better serve its community”, said the county health team.
