MONROVIA – Barely a day after Rural Reporters News Network (RRNN) reported that two officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) were embroiled in a fistfight that left one critically wounded and hospitalized; RRNN has been reliably informed that the injured officer, Patrolman Elton Bahn, has died at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, in Monrovia.
RRNN reported Thursday that Patrolman Bahn and an LNP officer of the Police Support Unit (PSU), Jeremiah Takpor, had a clash over a food-related disagreement, resulting in a fistfight that sent Officer Bahn to the hospital, with reports of him suffering a spinal cord injury.
The brawl between the two officers started in a local eatery where they had gone to have breakfast on Sunday, 20 October 2024, when Officer Bahn allegedly took the last chicken foot left in the soup of the food they were eating, an act which angered PSU Officer Takpor, according to eyewitnesses, who quoted Takpor as terming such action as a gross disrespect from Bahn, his subordinate officer.
In an attempt to forcibly take away the chicken foot from Bahn, who resisted, a source divulged that Takpor insulted the Patrolman, triggering a fistfight, in which Bahn was wounded and rushed to the Karnplay Comprehensive Health Center, in Nimba County, from where he was later referred to the John F Kennedy Hospital, in Monrovia for further treatment, where he remained and reportedly died this morning.
