Lofa County, Voinjama City-Dec. 19, 2024-President Joseph Nyumah Boakai is expected this Saturday, December 21,2024 in  Lofa, Superintendent J. Lavela Massaquoi has disclosed.

While in the county, the Liberian leader is expected to attend and grace the County’s 60th Anniversary celebration. Superintendent Massaquoi made the disclosure today, Thursday December 19, 2024 during a press conference.

According to him, the President Boakai will arrive in the county via the Foya Airstrip and spend the night. Then on Sunday, December 22, 2024 the President and entourage will fly to Voinjama City along with Vice President Jeremiah Koung to participate in the County 60th Anniversary celebration.

Superintendent Massaquoi added that the President will spend the night in Foya district and return to Voinjama City to attend a scheduled Town Hall meeting with chiefs, elders and citizens of the county.

While in the County, the president will visit all the 7 districts to interact with the people, visit ongoing projects as well as visit several private and government entities in the county.

President Boakai arrival in Lofa County on an airplane will be questioned by many in the County as to why he is not traveling on land cum “dusty road”.

Many are saying that the president should be traveling by road to come to home instead of by air via Foya airport.

Three additional counties in Liberia, founded in the 60s will join Lofa County on Sunday for the Anniversary Celebration. Delegations from Grand Gedeh, Nimba and Bong counties are all expected to be in Voinjama City for the anniversary celebration.

Superintendent Massaquoi has also indicated that 60 delegates including Superintendent from each of the above mentioned counties are expected to be in Voinjama City for the grand celebration.

Meanwhile, preparations are ongoing in Voinjama City, Foya district, and all other districts ahead of the President’s visit.

Women, youths, Traditional groupings, and several organizations are preparing to receive the president with flair, pomp and pageantry.
