Monrovia, Liberia-Saturday, October 4, 2025-The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah, paid a courtesy call on the Chairperson of the National AIDS Commission (NAC) in Monrovia on October 3, 2025.
During the visit, Minister Stevquoah emphasized the President’s commitment to supporting the institution and its efforts in combating HIV/AIDS.
The Minister disclosed that President Boakai plans to conduct unannounced visits to various Ministeries Agencies and Commissions (MACs), including the NAC, to strengthen their working relationships and understand their challenges.
He commended the NAC’s senior management team for their work despite limited resources allocated in the national budget.
The Minister also praised the NAC and other MACs for their efforts in meeting the targets of the ARREST Agenda.
In response, Dr. Cecelia J. Nuta, Chairperson of the NAC, expressed gratitude to President Boakai for his continuous commitment and support to the Commission.
She acknowledged the government’s support, particularly in addressing funding gaps created by the freeze in US Government support.
Dr. Nuta urged the government to do more to enable the NAC to sustain its gains and meet global targets in ending AIDS by 2030. As an oversight body, the NAC requires continued support to effectively implement its mandate and make progress in the national response to HIV/AIDS.
