    Radio Wologizi FM 87.9 MHz prepares for the first Anniversary celebration in Voinjama City, Lofa

    Lofa County, Voinjama City-Wednesday, February 26,2025-The Radio Wologizi Media group was established in 2022 in Voinjama City, Lofa County with the aim and objectives of serving the community with credible information, entertainment and education.

    On March 3rd, 2024, the radio station officially started live broadcasting in Voinjama City and parts adjacent including the sisterly Republics of Guinea and Sierra Leone respectively.

    The station was established by former Monrovia City mayor, Jefferson Tamba Koigee as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with support from friends and other sons and daughters from the County.

    Since its establishment, Radio Wologizi FM 87.9 MHz has been broadcasting several educative and informative programs on air which has made residents of the county to develop deep admiration and appreciation for the station.

    Radio Wologizi FM wide range of programs have indeed created a huge fans base which has kept increasing on a daily basis. Some of her notable programs include “The Wologizi Morning Parade, The Papers Review, Community Jingles, The Saturday Morning Jam, The Sunday Gospel Ride, and The Wologizi Afternoon Conversation,” among others.

    Moreover, it is important to mention that all of the above mentioned programs are interactive community programs that have and are contributing immensely to the popularity of Radio Wologizi.

    Speaking in an exclusive interview with this online news media, Mr. Kolubah B. Akoi, General Manager for the station said, the theme for this year anniversary is “Sustaining the Gains”.

    Mr. Kolubah Akoi said, in a short period of time, Radio Wologizi FM 87.9Mhz have brought a change in the area of broadcasting in Lofa County by providing quality programs that suit the community.

     Akoi furthered that programs being aired on Radio Wologizi FM are informative and educative to the community and that is the reason why the Institution is celebrating her first Anniversary with the theme “Sustaining the Gains”.

    Manager Kolubah Akoi disclosed that as part of the celebration, the Institution has written several individuals and institutions to support the Radio Station in order for it to be able to operate for 24 hours.

    He said individuals and Institutions who received letters and those who didn’t receive Letter should pass by to the premises of the Radio Station on Doe Hill Community in Voinjama City to do their mini contribution for the Institution to run 24 /7.

    Mr. Akoi said, the celebration of Radio Wologizi first Anniversary will start with a parade on the principal streets of Voinjama City follow by an indoor program at the main Media Complex of Radio Wologizi in Voinjama City, Doe Hill community.

    “We want everyone to be part of the first Anniversary celebration in Voinjama and Lofa at large, and that is the reason why we printed t. shirts, Lappas for our supporters to buy at a low cost to support their radio station”. We will march in all streets in Voinjama and later have an indoor Program at the Compound of Radio Wologizi, so we want everyone to come up and support the gains in one year,” Manager Kolubah Akoi said in an interview.

    Meanwhile, the founder and CEO of Radio Wologizi FM 87.9 MHz, former mayor Jefferson Tamba Koigee says, the radio is for the County at such the County should support the Institution.

    Former Mayor Koigee said, as a son from Lofa County, he decided to build the Radio station in Voinjama City for the people to benefit in Lofa and adjacent counties.

    “I should have done this in FOYA district or Monrovia city, but because I want to pay back to my county, that’s the reason why this radio station is here in Voinjama City, so let Lofa citizens appreciate it, love it and take good care of it. I’m from Foya district, this Radio should have been built in FOYA because I’m from there, but because I want the entire Lofa County to benefit, that’s the reason the radio station is here for you,” the former mayor concluded his statement in a telephone conversation.

    At the same time, the CEO Jefferson Koijee provided printed t-shirts for fans and supporters of the station who are going to attend the anniversary.

      Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work for the people of Lofa County and Liberia at large. In a short period, Radio Wologizi has been recognised as one of the top radio stations in the country and we pray that the time of broadcast will be extended to 24 hours.
