Monrovia, Liberia-Wednesday, April 30, 2025-The Chief Executive Officer of Restoring HOPE Foundation International, Amb. Maxson S. Kpakio is calling on the President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., to renew the Executive Order that established the office of the war crimes court for Liberia.

Just days ago, Human Rights Watch and other local and international rights groups made similar call.

Mr. Kpakio is one of the leading advocates calling for the establishment of a war and economic crimes court for Liberia, something that he started since 2009.

The head of the Restoring HOPE Foundation International Maxson Kpakio, who is also the founder and former Executive Director of Justice Forum LIBERIA, said his organization that won so much admiration from Liberians both at home and abroad over the years, is fully in support of the establishment of the War crimes and Economic Courts in Liberia.

According to him, the group organized and participated in a number of peaceful protests seeking political will for the war crimes court to be established.

“I’m a bit concerned that we are just a few hours to hit the expiration of the Executive Order that created the war crimes court office,” Mr. Kpakio said.

He is also calling on the government of Liberia to go beyond just establishing the office and begin to give it total support, especially financially.

Mr. Kpakio has also hailed the Executive Director, Dr. Cllr. Jallah A. Barbu and all of the staff at the war crimes court office for demonstrating a high degree of patriotism by accepting the job.
