River Gee County–Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025–The President of the River Gee Student Union at the William V. S. Tubman University, Isaiah Tee Sneh, is calling on River Gee County’s leadership, community groups, and citizens to officially honor the 31 students from the county who graduated from the institution during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Members of the 12th Commencement convocation numbering 265 graduates with 31 hailing from River Gee County.

Sneh says the achievement of these graduates who completed programs across six colleges deserves formal recognition from the county.

Such acknowledgment, he believes, would not only affirm the students’ dedication and resilience but also ignite greater enthusiasm for higher learning among young people back home.

“These graduates have represented our county with distinction,” Sneh emphasized. “Celebrating them back home will inspire others to enroll in universities and technical institutions, knowing that their achievements will be valued and recognized.”

On November 24, 2025, the William V. S. Tubman University held its 12th Commencement Convocation, graduating a total of 265 students. River Gee County was proudly represented by 31 graduates, all of whom earned bachelor’s degrees across a diverse range of disciplines, including Agriculture, Health Sciences, Education, Management and Accounting, Engineering and Technology, and Arts and Sciences.

Graduates stand during the ongoing commencement exercise held on November 24,2025 at TU Campus,Maryland County.

However, many residents of River Gee and student leaders at Tubman University have described the group as one of the most committed and high-performing cohorts from River Gee in recent years, praising their discipline, strong academic performance, and perseverance.

Sneh said that public acknowledgment of the students’ achievements could contribute to changing long-held community attitudes regarding higher education.

He believes that highlighting success stories from the county can encourage parents, local leaders, and youth to continue investing in education as a pathway to development.

“This is a proud moment for River Gee County,” he noted. “We must highlight these accomplishments to promote a culture of academic excellence and show our young people that education opens doors.”

As the graduates prepare to return home, residents across River Gee are already expressing joy and pride.

Many describe the collective achievement as a milestone worthy of public celebration, especially at a time when the county is striving to increase school enrollment and expand learning opportunities.

While the county’s leadership has not yet issued an official statement in response to Sneh’s appeal, several prominent figures, including the Office of the River Gee County Superintendent, have taken to social media to congratulate the graduates and commend their efforts.

For now, the call for a county-level ceremony continues to gain momentum among citizens who believe the accomplishments of the 31 scholars should be celebrated widely.
