Heath authorities have shut down several health facilities in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County. The action, authorities say is intended to eradicate bad heath practices in the County, mainly Zwedru.

The County Health Team took the action today, Saturday July 5,2025 when it launched a compliance inspection exercise of health facilities in the county.

The head of the Grand Gedeh County Health Team, Dr. Daanue Zwuogbae said the inspection is initiated to eliminate unlicensed and substandard clinics and drug stores in the county, Dr. Zwuogbae noted that most  of the clinics and drug stores operating in the county do not have licensees, and hence, do not meet the criteria to operate as clinics or drug stores.

“Many clinics and drug stores here are illegally operating and do not reach the standard to run a clinic. This search will be done after every three months”, said Dr. Zwuogbae.
