Lofa County, Foya City –November 12, 2024-A heartbreaking incident occurred on November 7, when 15-year-old Sobondoe Windor tragically lost her life in Mayour River while doing laundry. The young girl was washing clothes near the river when she reportedly suffered from a fatal drowning incident. Sobondoe, described by her parents as a kind-hearted and supportive daughter, brought joy and love into their lives. In tears, they recounted fond memories of their daughter; emphasizing how much she meant to the family. “She was always there for us, and it’s hard to believe she’s gone,” her mother stated, struggling to find words amidst her grief.

In the wake of this tragedy, a 15-member jury was convened to investigate the cause of Sobondoe’s death. After thorough consideration of the evidence and testimonies, the jury concluded that there was no foul play involved, confirming that her death was the result of accidental drowning.

Following the jury’s verdict, the grieving family sought permission for Sobondoe’s body to be released for burial. With heavy hearts, they laid their beloved daughter to rest, honoring her memory and the impact she had on their lives. Despite the conclusion reached by the jury, local authorities, including the police, have announced that the investigation will continue to ensure that all details surrounding the incident are thoroughly examined.

This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting discussions about safety measures around bodies of water and the importance of monitoring young people during such activities. As friends and family mourn the loss of Sobondoe Windor, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
