Barclayville City, Grand Kru County-Wednesday, April 16, 2025-A somber mood Wednesday morning engulfed Barclayville, Grand Kru County as news broke that Gibson Blamoh, a 52-year-old former coach of Setor United and a dedicated classroom teacher at the Joseph Blamoh Toe Junior High School, has passed away following a reported incident related to hypertension, (high blood pressure).

According to eyewitnesses, the late Gibson Blamoh went into crisis Tuesday evening during the game between FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund on the one hand, with Arsenal versus Real Madrid on the other; and he was immediately rushed to the Rally-Time hospital in Grandcess.

Consequently, the tragic event occurred shortly after FC Barcelona’s second leg defeat against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday following a setback.

Gibson Blamoh, One-Time Head Coach of Setor United Football Club and classroom teacher at the Joseph Blamoh Toe Elementary School was pronounced dead by health workers at the Rally Time Hospital early Wednesday morning, April 16, 2025.

The late teacher and coach Joseph Blamoh (RIP).

Blamoh, known for his passion for football and commitment to education, had a significant impact on the lives of many young athletes and students in the area, as friends and colleagues remembered him as a devoted teacher who inspired his students to strive for excellence both academically and athletically.

Reports indicate that Blamoh had been experiencing issues related to high blood pressure, which may have been exacerbated by the intense emotional reactions surrounding the match.

The game, a fixture that drew fervent support from Barcelona fans worldwide, concluded with unsettling disappointment for the team’s followers, leading to heightened emotional stress.

Witnesses say that shortly after the match, Blamoh became visibly distressed, and despite the efforts of those around him to provide assistance, he could not be revived.

Medical professionals later confirmed that the cause of death was linked to hypertension, a condition that affects millions globally and can lead to severe health complications.

Citizens, including Educational stakeholders have expressed their shock and sorrow over the news. “Gibson was not just a coach but a mentor and a friend. He had an incredible ability to connect with the youth and always encouraged them to chase their dreams,” said, Augustine Seedee; a fellow teacher at Joseph Blamoh Toe Junior High School.

The local football scene is mourning the loss of a remarkable coach who guided many aspiring players.

Under his leadership, Setor United achieved significant milestones, fostering young talent and instilling values of teamwork and dedication.

As the community prepares to honor Gibson Blamoh’s memory, discussions are underway for a memorial service that will celebrate his life and contributions both on the field and in the classroom.

His passing serves as a poignant reminder of the impact one individual can have in shaping the lives of many others.

In light of this tragedy, health professionals are urging the public to pay closer attention to hypertension and its symptoms.

Heart-related conditions remain a leading cause of death worldwide, and proactive measures are crucial in managing health risks.

Gibson Blamoh leaves behind a legacy of passion for sports, education, and an unforgettable impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be solely missed but never forgotten.
