Voinjama City-The Voinjama Public High School with huge students’ enrollment is said to be struggling to accommodate the students due to limited sitting capacity. Portion of the school building, mainly the auditorium is also damaged due to storm disasters that occurred in March 2025, the school administration has said.
The school Principal Francis Kulee said the school was hit by heavy storm in March 2025 and damaged the main auditorium which was also used as a classroom for students
“This building is damaged since March of this year 2025 and a team came from both the disaster management committee and the Ministry of Education to assess the level of damage done. We explained all to them with estimate but since them, we cannot see or hear anything happening”, the principal said.
He said the auditorium hosted few of the classes due to huge enrollment of students leading to sitting incapacitation. Principal Kulle estimated the number of students to about 1,300 for academic year 2025/2026 morning, afternoon and night sessions.

“Portion of our School building is deserted, we are lacking of class rooms. Therefore, we are calling on the Ministry of Education, the disaster management committee and well-wisher to come to the aid of the Voinjama Public High School, because our students are really suffering” the principal added.
The Voinjama Public High School is the second populated government School in Voinjama City, next to the Voinjama Multilateral High School. The school runs from Grade 3 to Grade 12 in three sessions, morning, afternoon and night.
