Voinjama, Lofa County – May 1, 2025 – The YMCA National Youth Council of Liberia has officially commenced its first-ever Executive Committee (Ex-Co) meeting in Voinjama City, Lofa County, running from May 1 to May 4, 2025.

The historic gathering, held at the Voinjama YMCA, brings together young leaders and active members from YMCA branches across the country. As the highest decision-making meeting of the council, the Ex-Co serves as a platform to strengthen unity, foster leadership, and advance the mission of the YMCA in Liberia.

The four-day event will focus on strategic planning, leadership development, and collaborative discussions centered on youth empowerment initiatives and community engagement efforts.

This inaugural Executive Committee meeting is also significant as it marks the first under the leadership of Z. Timothy Akoi, who was elected president of the YMCA National Youth Council during the council’s 10th assembly in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Organizers say the Ex-Co meeting reflects a renewed commitment to empowering youth and enhancing organizational effectiveness across all YMCA branches nationwide.
