Zwedru Checkpoints Impasse: Man In Drag Defies Border Authorities

Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County —Monday, October 27, 2025— A peculiar incident unfolded today at the Gate One Checkpoint in Zwedru, where a man dressed as a woman, reportedly a ‘Fula woman’, was apprehended after refusing to comply with authorities for an inspection. The individual was attempting to travel from Maryland to Monrovia.

Initially presenting as a woman, the suspect’s refusal to undergo the standard inspection raised immediate suspicion among officers.

A subsequent investigation led to the revelation of the individual’s true identity. Authorities called in a female officer from the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to conduct a thorough search, which confirmed that the person was a man in disguise.

The motives behind the man’s decision to dress as a woman and attempt to bypass the checkpoint remain a mystery. Authorities are currently conducting further inquiries into the matter to determine the reason for the unusual behavior and the subsequent attempt at evasion.
