Monrovia, Liberia-Monday, August 18, 2025-In a deliberate move to boost the country’s educational sector, renowned businessman Cllr. George B. Kailondo, Sr., has announced the upcoming opening of a cutting-edge educational institution, the Brilliant Minds International Christian School. This pioneering facility, constructed with an investment of approximately US$1.3 million, is poised to become a cornerstone of modern learning when it officially opens its doors in September this year.

Located in the vibrant community of Thinker’s Village and occupying the historic premises of the former Executive Inn Hotel, this state-of-the-art school promises a comprehensive and nurturing environment for young learners. The campus boasts 36 fully air-conditioned classrooms, designed to foster a better learning environment. To support hands-on academic engagement, the school features comprised specialized facilities including science, computer, and library as well as laboratories. A secure fencing surrounds the campus, ensuring safety for all students.

Designed with resilience and sustainability in mind, the school is equipped with dual large-scale private generators with transformers, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. Operationally, the institution will be supported by four purposefully designed school buses to facilitate student transportation, vis-à-vis a well-programmed feeding program providing three-squared meals daily at affordable rates; highlighting the importance of health and nourishment in education.

Cllr. Kailondo has underscored the vital role of highly qualified educators, revealing that the school has assembled a dedicated team of professional teachers, most holding bachelor’s degrees and many with master’s qualifications. To ensure personalized attention and academic excellence, class sizes will be maintained at a maximum of 15 students per classroom. The curriculum is carefully curated to include a diverse array of language offerings such as French, Spanish, Chinese, and indigenous Liberian dialects like Kpelle; fostering both global competitiveness and cultural preservation.

The institution will cater to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, with two classrooms dedicated to each grade level, creating a strong academic foundation for the youth of Liberia. Beyond academics, the school’s development plans include the creation of approximately 40 employment opportunities for Liberian nationals across teaching, administrative, and support staff roles, further contributing to local economic growth.

Commenting on his vision, Cllr. Kailondo stated, “I firmly believe that the greatest gift a parent can bestow upon a child is access to quality education. When equipped with the right knowledge and skills, our children can aspire to any position—including rising to become Liberia’s next leader.”

This ambitious educational project aligns with Kailondo’s broader vision of national development, echoing the government’s ethos of “Thinking Liberia, Loving Liberia, and Building Liberia.” Beyond education, Kailondo’s enterprise portfolio continues to expand, showcasing his commitment to national progress.

Quite recently, he launched a microfinance bank licensed by the Central Bank of Liberia, which currently serves over 500 customers and plans to open two additional branches in Congo Town and Bushrod Island by September. His business ventures also include Kailondo Hotel, a hospitality enterprise that originated from his first gas station in 1991 and now features a 35-room hotel, swimming pool, gym, beauty salon, cigar bar, large event halls, and fast-food outlets.

Adding to his diverse portfolio, Kailondo owns VIP Jewelry, offering a wide range of precious metals and gemstones, from modest US$20 items to luxury pieces valued over US$1,000. Through his various initiatives, Cllr. Kailondo reaffirms his unwavering dedication to creating jobs, expanding services, and significantly contributing to Liberia’s socio-economic development—starting with cultivating the next generation of leaders and innovators.
